This morning Peter McLeavey was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Massey University, for services to the arts in New Zealand. That's Dr. McLeavey now, though I doubt he'll take to this title easily.Later, as his two roomed gallery on Cuba St was filled with many of the people whose lives have been enriched by the humble dealer, there were few dry eyes as several of these people reflected on past experiences, memories, and toasted Peter's many achievements.
